Life Quote #46:
“Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To speak of health, happiness, and prosperity to every person that you meet. To make all your friends aware of the special qualities within them. To look at the sunny side of everything and let your optimism work to make your dreams come true. To think, work for, and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others, as you are about your own. To forget past mistakes and press toward a greater future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times, as a smile radiates warmth and love.To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time left to criticize others. To be too wise for worry, too tolerant for anger, and too courageous for fear. To Be Happy.” – Anonymous
Life Quote #47:
“Silence is a lesson learned from the many sufferings of life. Silence is Strength.” – Seneca, Thyestes
Life Quote #48:
“Life is like a 10 speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use.” – Charles Schultz
Life Quote #49:
“The person who does wrong, does wrong to themselves. The unjust person is unjust of themselves – making themselves evil.” – Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
Life Quote #50:
“Throw out your conceited opinions, for it is impossible for a person to begin to learn what he thinks he already knows.” – Epictetus, Discourses
In other words, try a little humbleness, if you want to learn something. I have found that the best attitude to have is that of a “scrub-face”, when I am in a new situation, learning something new. It allows my mind to be open to new ideas being presented. If I walk in with an attitude of “knowing it all already”… then I am wasting my time.
Life Quote #51:
“If you were defeated once and tell yourself you will overcome, but carry-on as before, know in the end you’ll be so ill and weakened that eventually you won’t even notice your mistake and will begin to rationalize your behavior. – Epictetus, Discourses
Surely, you have heard of the saying that defines insanity, right? “Insanity – doing the same thing over and over and over again, expecting different results.”
Life Quote #52:
“I don’t agree with those who plunge headlong into the middle of the flood and who, accepting a turbulent life, struggle daily in great spirit with difficult circumstances. The wise person will endure that, but will not choose it – choosing to be at peace, rather than at war.” – Seneca, Moral Letters
Life Quote #53:
“Keep on going and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you’re least expecting it. I’ve never heard of anyone stumbling on something sitting down.” – Charles F Kettering
Life Quote #54:
“Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” – Will Rogers
Life Quote #55:
“The mind must be given relaxation – it will rise improved and sharper after a good break. Just as rich fields must not be forced – for they will quickly lose their fertility if never given a break – so constant work on the anvil will fracture the force of the mind. But it regains its powers if it is set free and allowed to relax for a while. Constant work gives rise to a certain kind of dullness and feebleness in the rational soul.” – Seneca, On Tranquility of Mind
Life Quote #56:
“Therefore, explain why a wise person shouldn’t get drunk – not with words, but by the facts of its ugliness and offensiveness. It’s most easy to prove that so-called pleasures, when they go beyond proper measure, are but punishments.” – Seneca, Moral Letters
Life Quote #57:
“Keep constant guard over your perceptions, for it is no small thing you are protecting, but your respect, trustworthiness and steadiness, peace of mind, freedom from pain and fear, in a word your freedom. For what would you sell these things?” – Epictetus , Discourses
Life Quote #58:
“We must welcome the future, remembering that soon it will be the past. And we must respect the past, knowing that once it was all that was humanly possible.” – George Santayana
